What was the task?

To design a large, three-storey semi-detached family home that offers some peace and quiet and a livable environment to its inhabitants, despite the noisy main road nearby.

What made this project special?

Mainly, the location: the house is built on a corner plot, with the southwestern façade overlooking a busy road. Also, we had to connect the new building to another family house, meaning that we had to largely adapt our design to its height and style. The biggest issue for our client, however, was the noise coming from the main road and the lack of privacy, which we managed to overcome by the structural design and an L-shape layout. We attached a terrace to the sheltered side of the building, where residents can sit back and relax in peace.
